FAQ

When is the best time to book my session?

You can book your newborn photos as soon as you have a due date! In order to provide your photos in a timely manner, a limited number of bookings are accepted per month. It is recommended to secure a place in our calendar as soon as possible!

What if my baby comes early or late?

No problem! Let me know once your baby has arrived, and we will adjust your session date.

What is the best age for newborn photos?

There is no wrong time to photograph a baby! At 6-14 days, we will capture the tiny, cute and sleepy newborn stage. At 5-7 weeks, babies make eye contact and adorable expressions. Photographing the connection between baby and parent is ideal at any age.

How much does it cost, and what do I get?

The studio session and digital photo gallery of 20+ images are inclusive of one $800 fee.

When is payment due?

At the time of booking, a $200 deposit is taken to secure your space in the studio, with the remainder due prior to the photoshoot.

How long is the shoot?

I don't place a time limit on your session, however a typical photo session can be 2-4 hours. We work at the pace and direction of your baby, allowing lots of time for feeds, changes and cuddles.

Do you only use white backdrops?

My white studio is intentionally designed for a clean, classic and natural look. While colour and style trends change, timeless white photography will never go out of style!

What to wear for the photo shoot?

White, cream, ivory, beige or other neutral/pastel coloured clothing works well. Please avoid patterns and logos. We also have a selection of beautiful dresses available for the photoshoot, as well as cozy wraps and rompers for babe. For family shoots, coordinating rather than matching outfits photograph the best!

What should I bring to the photo shoot?

The studio is set to be quite warm for babe's comfort. Therefore you may wish to bring a little extra powder to absorb shine. If you are planning to borrow a dress from the client closet provided, I would recommend wearing neutral coloured undergarments. For your baby, don't forget a pacifier and extra formula if they are formula fed.

Can I reschedule due to illness or other reason?

In case of illness, bookings can be rescheduled. This applies to the photographer as well! We will also work together to find an alternate date if you are unable to attend due to another reason.

Can I request poses I like?

Client preferences will be considered but not guaranteed, as some babies do not tolerate certain positions. Poses are done with a natural approach, with minimal 'molding' of the baby. The look is wrapped up and snuggled in. Classic and sweet!

I am nervous about others handling my baby. How can I be sure they are safe?

Being a mother, I understand. Let me know how you are feeling. We also work at your pace. I am comfortable working through transitions of crying, changes, feeding and sleeping. We will work together to ensure your baby is comforted and you feel good during the process. Some babies settle better when parents step outside of the room. It is always up the discretion and comfort of the parents! I am also trained in Level 2 First Aid for Babies and Children.
